First Ultrasound

A BIG welcome to Baby Z's blog! Please read through the last couple months of posts and you'll understand why I'm so excited to finally share this blog! If you are reading this that means that we've successfully found the heart beat, a very fast 160 beats per minute mind you! Chris and I headed to the hospital today to have an ultrasound, about 7 weeks ahead of the normally scheduled ultrasound, to detect fetal heart sounds. Nervous doesn't even describe how I was feeling, my anxiety was definitely getting the best of me. I had trouble sleeping worrying that something was wrong. Yet Chris appeared to be very calm through the whole waiting period.

Thankfully, the moment she placed the ultrasound wand on my stomach Baby Z's image appeared on the screen! Talk about the most amazing experience, seeing your baby for the first time! I believe Chris' first words were "It has arms and legs!" As if we were having an alien child ;) She did all the measurements and then let us see a bunch of "fun" close ups of the baby. We got a nice profile shot and a couple cute ones with Baby Z's legs up in the air (which is where they remained the entire ultrasound). Ladies and gentlemen we have a WIGGLER on our hands! I don't think little bambino sat still for one second, she had a hard time measuring the HB because it wouldn't stop moving! Chris asked every time if I could feel it and I assured him (along with the Sonogram Tech) that I have quite a few weeks before I can start feeling Baby Z's movements. He couldn't believe that it was squirming that much and yet I couldn't feel a thing!

Here are a few pictures from our ultrasound! Enjoy!

Love,

Chris, Amber & Baby Z

Good profile shot! However the more I look at it the more I think there may be some thumb sucking going on?!

Look at those little feet! Crossed & straight up!
