Week 3

Hello Friends & Family--

As expected my nearly daily blogging schedule has dwindled to a mere once a week occurence. I'm sure you all understand the lack of updates!

Cameron is doing fabulous. He's growing like a weed and getting more and more on a schedule everyday. We have our few cranky spells, but overall he's a pretty good baby. Cameron had his first real bath at week 2, and a couple since then too! He doesn't mind them, but he did have a little poo accident during his last one :) Another milestone, he had his first bottle this past week. Daddy finally got the opportunity to feed him. I'd say it was a major success too! We'll incorporate one or two 2.5-3 oz bottles into his routine per day.

Here are his 3 week pictures!

Week 2

Hello Friends & Family--

Here's a much happier baby for his weekly photo shoot! He's still not sure what's going on, but is definitely more alert.

Little guy is still having some issues sleeping, which makes for one tired Mommy and Daddy. We've tried lots of tricks to console him, but he's got a mind of his own. One day soon he'll make the switch with his days and nights. Until then we'll just be taking lots of  naps throughout the day :)

2 week appointment

Hello Friends & Family--

Cameron had his 2 week appointment today! I can't believe how fast time is going, and how BIG he is getting already! He had a little crying spell when we were waiting for Dr. E, but he quickly became alert and ready for his check-up. We didn't even have a peeing issue like we did at his first appt.! Oh joys of having a little boy :) Now he won't have to go back until his 2 month appt. in July!

Here are my little guy's 2 week stats:

Weight: 8lbs 5.6oz (38%)
Length: 20.5" (43%)
Head Circumference: 37 cm (48%)

Note that my little tank gained nearly 1.5 lbs since birth! Dr. E was sure we were supplementing his nursing with formula, she was very impressed. She said most breastfed babies don't gain that healthily. Yep, we've got an eater :) Needless to say she isn't worried about his growth rates, haha!

And here's a little pic from our tummy-time sessions. We love our mat Gma & Gpa Mingus! He's so strong already! The doctor was very impressed with his neck strength. That's my boy already surpassing the norm!

Week One

Hello Friends & Family--

A little delayed, especially since he is TWO weeks today! (Those pictures coming soon!)

He didn't love this photo shoot, but I'm confident he'll be much more photogenic in his next few shoots. He doesn't mind being unwrapped as much any more! Makes diaper changes and re-swaddling/clothing changes much easier! The cute little build-a-bear is a gift from Cameron's 2nd cousins: Liz and Eric. Too cute, huh?

Week One

Hello Friends & Family--

We've officially made it through our first full week home! We've had a few trials at night with feedings & sleep, but overall we've been all doing really well! And isn't lack of sleep to be expected anyway :) We had a nice quiet Mother's Day, with a few visitors too! Chris made me breakfast in bed and we even had our first stroll through the neighborhood as a family! Perfect if you ask me!

We have Cameron's 2 week well-baby check-up on Friday, I am amazed that two weeks are already coming up! Time does fly. I will say I can already tell he's growing--slow down! His little body is filling out, but that is a good sign that he's eating well :)

I'll be posting pics shortly, just don't have all the time in the world at the moment...

What's in a name?

Hello Friends & Family--

Well we've debated for months. We've made lists, re-done lists and resorted to many books and online searches. Finally after all of our researching and a major gut instinct, it's time to retire the title of "Baby Z" and give this boy a name!

We are proud to announce the name of our son...

CAMERON DAVID ZIMMERMAN

We didn't name him after anyone, nor did we follow any trends. Just a plain old name that offers a bit of uniqueness but is still traditional none-the-less. Oddly enough in 2002 Chris and I completed a book entitled "All About Us" in which you answer different questions about your relationship. Can you believe that Chris had the name Cameron chosen as his top boy name almost 9 years ago! So our little man will be referred to as Cameron most of the time, but Cam will be the given nickname. I'm sure there will be plenty of other nicknames too!

Hello Friends & Family--

He's finally here and we couldn't be more in love with our little man! And he has a name, no more need to refer to him as Baby Z! We are all doing really well, just trying to establish a schedule, easier said then done that's for sure! Yet he is only 6 days old :) He received a clean bill of health at his first appointment earlier this week--gained an ounce and the jaundice levels were normal! We won't be going back until his 2 week well-baby check up next week. It's amazing (and a little sad) to think that he'll already be a week old tomorrow.

We want to thank everyone for your well wishes, we truly appreciate it! We've been blessed to have such amazing and supportive people in our lives, so THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!

I'm going to post a few pictures from the last few days. And I'll be taking weekly pictures to document his growth. To play it safe I'll be watermarking most of these pictures after this point. If there is ever a picture you want just email me and I'll be more then happy to share it with you. I just don't want any creepers stealing pictures of our little guy. In the future I may make the blog private, but I will give you all access and keep you in the know.

Here he is...
