Blog Update

Hello Friends & Family--

For those of you that read the blog in email or reader form you probably won't notice the changes. If you go to the actual blog link I've updated a few things...including a new picture of Cam. I'm probably not done yet, but I needed a change. I'm sure I'll make a few more adjustments before I'm satisfied.

Oh and to update on the vaccinations. Poor Cam started to feel the after effects from the shots around 6:30pm and he was not a happy camper. We took a long car ride, a warm bath and some Tylenol and then we finally started to feel better. Thankfully, he slept normally through the night and was back to normal the next day. Can't wait for these every 2 months. Hopefully, he doesn't feel this poorly with every dose.

2 Month Check-up

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam received a clean bill of health at his appointment today! He received 4 vaccinations (3 were shots, one was liquid). He only cried for a brief second and once he was in Mom's arms he was fine! Poor bugger, but he did get some sweet Snoopy bandaids.

Here are his stats:

Weight: 11 lbs 15.6 oz (62 % percentile)
Height: 22" or 1' 10" (20% percentile)
Head Circumference: 40.6 cm (70% percentile)

Basically we have a short, chubby baby with a big head. Haha, gotta love my Cam Jam!

Here are a few pictures from Cam's first play date with his friend Jaylen. They are 1 month apart, Cam being younger. I think it went well :) I am sure there will be more visits to follow!

Week 8

Hello Friends & Family--

Happy TWO month birthday to Cam! He was 8 weeks on June 24th! He will have his 2 month check-up on Monday the 27th. I know shots are in store, so please pray the little guy doesn't cry too much! If I had to guess I'd say he weighs about 12 lbs. I guess we'll see on Monday (I'll be sure to post after the appt.).

Cam is smiling and cooing more and more each day. He loves to lay on his changing table and "talk" to you. He's still sleeping really well (with the exception of last night...even that wasn't bad though). We wish the weather would be more cooperative so we could spend more time outdoors on walks. All we have is cool and rainy weather though. Certainly doesn't feel like the end of June. I'm sure once August rolls around and it's 100+ I'll regret saying that.

I'm working on a birth story post and a post of things I wish I'd known (for all my preggo friends). I'd like to update the blog page too. Sounds like a lot of work for my limited amount of free time :) We'll see how this goes!

Here's my love bug @ 8 weeks! For comparison I'm posting his 1 week picture  at the bottom :)

Father's Day

Hello Friends & Family--

Obviously Father's Day has past, but I thought I'd share a few pictures of Cam and his Daddy. Chris is a great Dad and Cam loves him. In fact he allowed Chris to capture the FIRST smile picture on Father's Day! There have been many more, but it's too appropriate that the first one fell on that date.

Happy Father's Day to all of Cam's Grandpas and Great Grandpas!

We love you Daddy!

Daddy and me at the hospital.
Daddy being silly with me!

Snuggling up with Daddy, but I don't look very comfortable:)

I love talking to my Daddy!

Week 7

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam Jam, as we affectionately refer to him as, was 7 weeks on June 17th! Our big boy went 7.5 hours between feedings that night! That's 6.5 consecutive hours of sleep for Mommy and Daddy! Wahoo! Then to top it off he started to sleep 8-9 hours in a row. Seriously, at 7 weeks? Hey no complaints here! I swear everyday he looks and acts more and more grown up. Each day he does something a bit different or new and it's awesome to be apart of this experience. His current "soother" is any song by Bruno Mars (click the link to watch one of his videos). I listened to this cd a lot while I was pregnant so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. As I type this he's swinging away and smiling at his birdies, too cute! Of course everytime I try to capture his precious smile it never works.

Its been noted numerous times by numerous people that Cam looks nothing like me. Yet we have discovered that not only does he have my dark blue eyes (hopefully they don't change) but he has my nose. We had to look at a baby picture of me, but it's been determined. Ha to think I'd be excited over a nose.

Week 6

Hello Friends & Family--

Cameron was 6 weeks (June 9th)! That's 1 and a half months old, WOW! He's growing everyday, and not just in size. I thought I'd share a few of his other stats with everyone :) A lot of this may seem like silly information, but this blog can be turned into a book and one day I want to share that with Cam. It's like an online baby book; one that will document more then just the "firsts".

Feeding: Currenty he eats about 8 to 9 times a day. He will take a bottle successfully now (we had a few issues for about a week).

Sleeping: Cam takes 1 to 2 hour naps through out the day. At night he usually sleeps from 9/10pm to 2/3am. It's roughtly 6 hours between feedings, amazing! This is our longest stretch of the day and much appreciated that it's at night! We can put him back down for another 3 to 4 hours after that too!

Personality: He's mainly an eater and a sleeper, but he does have his alert moments too. They are getting longer every day and he's more intrigued by his toys too! Just the other day he grabbed onto a toy elephant and would't let go--priceless! I think I mentioned that we saw his first smile too! He loves to be walked around so he can watch everything around him. He'll coo if he's really intrigued.

6 weeks old:

Again we shouldn't take the pic right after bath time...angry little man. ha.

Much calmer!

Someone LOVES his bath!

I can hold it myself Mom :)

Week 5

Hello Friends & Family--

June 3rd marked 5 weeks! Wowzers this little guy is getting big fast! We had our first "real" smile this week while laying on our changing table. He LOVES his changing table--who would have thought?! We've seen a few more at randome times, and can't wait to see more!

We also had a big change into our cloth diapers! We've been waiting until he was able to fit into them comfortably and we are finally there! He now has to wear 0 to 3 month clothing though to compensate for his larger diaper. Oh well. So far so good! It's a few more steps then a normal disposable diaper, but nothing we can't handle! Plus 96 diapers at $30 was getting costly!

These pictures are a bit funny, he looks like a little old man. He was a bit cranky b/c his bath had to end. This little man loves bath time! Hopefully he likes the water when he's old enough to go on the boat and go swimming!

And here's Mom and Cameron.

Notice the hand :)

And a goofy face!

4 weeks

Hello Friends & Family--

Well my little guy turned ONE MONTH on Friday May 27th. To show us how big he is getting, he slept like a champ that night. Only to prove us wrong on Saturday night :) Needless to say Mommy had a very sleepless night. Thankfully, Daddy let Mommy take a much needed nap during the day. Thankfully (and let's not jinx ourselves) he hasn't had another night like that since.

Cam had a little issue with nursing, he basically wouldn't eat without crying. So, after a few days of trying to figure things out I took him into our clinic. I was worried he may have an ear infection or something of that nature. I probably should stop googling things :) Fortunately, he had a clean bill of health! The little tank weighed in at 10.4 lbs! So they weren't concerned that he was eating a little less. Turns out I think he just changed his nursing pattern and now is eating less frequently. This makes the day go a bit easier bc he's not eating all of the time. This has left us with time to go on walks WITH the dogs and shopping adventures all over town.

Can you tell he's growing?

Chris, Amber & Cameron
