First Cereal!

Hello Friends & Family--

What's been going on with Cam lately? Well my little guy is growing up! He tried cereal for the first time! Where has the time gone? So, I've been noticing how curious Cameron has been when watching Chris and I eat. He focuses in on our every move, and loves to watch you use your silverware. So, I decided that maybe he was ready to try his first bites of cereal. They'd like you to exclusively give milk for the first 6 months, but any where from 4 to 6 months cereal can be introduced if the baby is ready (if they don't swallow it then they aren't ready). On October 9th Cameron had his first taste of rice cereal. We nearly made it the full 6 months :) I think he was ready because it instantly went down and he was "crying" for more! I don't think I could shovel it fast enough!

We've continued to give him rice cereal once a day and he loves it! I can't believe how big he's getting. After a couple of weeks we'll have to introduce some veggies! Stay tuned because I plan on making my own baby food! This could be interesting :)

Sorry the picture has such poor lighting :)

Here's a video of his first experience! (Right after this I ended up holding him while Chris finished feeding hi the rest of the bowl b/c apparently he wasn't done, haha!)...I'll have to add it later because I can't find a good player. Sorry!

Here are some more pictures from another night! They are from my phone so they aren't the best quality.

23 Weeks!

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam was 23 weeks on Friday, October 7th! He's continuing to amaze us everyday (more exciting posts about "firsts" to come)! With the wonderful summer like weather we are having we've been able to spend a lot of time going on walks or sitting on the deck. He even sat in a chair while Mommy & Daddy raked leaves in the yard!

I'm currently trying to teach Cam all about the wonderful month of October (my FAVORITE) and Halloween. As I was decorating the house, I found a talking ghost that I decided to show Cam. I'm pretty sure it was the funniest reaction I could have ever imagined. He pouted his lips and they began to quiver his lips the moment the ghost started talking (he's not really scary...) When I'd move the ghost out of site he'd was back to normal. I tried it again with the same reaction, so I think he may be a little intimidated by my decor. Ha! He better learn quick because the house is covered in Halloween stuff!

He continues to sleep through the night and we are thankful for that!

Here's Cam at 23 weeks, again I took way too many pictures so here are just a few:

22 Weeks & 5 Months!

Hello Friends & Family--

On September 29th Cam officially turned 5 months and was 22 weeks on Friday, September 30th. I can't believe my little monster is already 5 months old! I love seeing him grow everyday, but I can't help but tear up a bit at the thought he's not my little peanut anymore. I combined the two photo shoots since the days were back-to-back. So I added some clothes to change it up a bit ;) Aren't these "paw" socks adorable? Don't worry I only had to put them on a million times that day. He likes to pull them off and "chew" on them so we usually wear a couple of pairs a day. He's so funny.

He is really into reading books at the moment. Good thing his Mommy loves to read! He still hasn't rolled over, but he's so close. If we could just get that pesky shoulder out of the way! Tummy time still isn't his favorite, but he tolerates it a bit more. Maybe he'll just skip crawling all together and go straight to walking? No rush though :)

21 Weeks

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam was 21 weeks on September 23rd. Finally at 21 weeks we are back to sleeping through the night (well until around 5:00am, but he goes back down till 7:45-8:00am after he eats). I'm not sure what the change was, but I'll take it! We have really settled into a good routine with naps/bedtime so that probably has a lot to do with it. Babies love structured schedules and Cam is no different! We still have some fussy periods, but as you can tell with the resent picture additions he's a much happier baby overall. His smiles just melt my heart and I can't get enough of his laugh! Can you tell I'm in love? I have a ton of videos I should post, but again always a shortage in time (hence why I'm blogging when I should be sleeping...oops!)

Here's my love bug at 21 weeks:

Baptism

Hello Friends & Family--

On September 18th, Cameron was baptized at my (Amber's) Church in Iowa. He was surrounded by lots family and friends and it couldn't have been a more perfect day. Ok, well the weather could have been a little nicer! His Godparents, Kristin and Ben are very special friends and we couldn't be more thrilled for them to play such an important role in Cam's life.

We still are awed by how many people traveled from many distances to be a part of his big day. We can't thank you enough. It really means a lot to us and of course Cameron too!

Here are a few pictures from the big day!

20 Weeks!

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam turned 20 weeks on September 16th! This little guy has really discovered a love for his feet. They are either in his hands or near his mouth. This equates to Mom putting back on someone's socks a lot throughout the day! He's also started to discover his toys in a new way. He will still try to put them in his mouth, but he now takes the time to really look them over. Cam still loves anything musical and he's received a few new toys that make noise which are high on his list!

We are struggling with some serious diaper rash, so until it's all clear we have to use disposables. The strong diaper rash meds will make the cloth diapers lose their absorbency. Can't have that! This diaper rash may be another sign that someone is teething too...

19 Weeks

Hello Friends & Family--

Well I'm about a month behind on updating the blog, there just isn't enough time in the day! I'll do my best to keep up once I'm all caught up, but no promises :) This little guy is too much fun to spend time with so you really can't blame me!

On September 9th marked Cam turning 19 weeks! He's been enjoying his morning walks with Mommy and the dogs. If you pass us by I'm sure we are quite the sight! Not to mention we have the speakers on the stroller rockin'! I just hope that we continue to have Fall weather (and no Snow) for awhile! Not sure what I'll do when I have a crawlin' baby-on-the-go during the winter months!?!?

He just discovered his feet, which means he loves pulling on his socks. Wonderful, as if baby socks were already so easy to keep on, ha! He's also really become ticklish, right on his tummy or under his arms. It's the cutest little laugh (if you can keep his hands out of his mouth to hear him). We still haven't seen any teeth, but the drooling continues.
