50 Weeks!

Hello Friends & Family--

2 weeks to go before we have a ONE year old. On April 13th Cam was 50 weeks!

This week he tried cheese ravioli, another hit! He also retried avocado. This time we didn't have any tears or rejection so I think we can safe to say we like avocado now! Good thing too because we eat a lot of guacamole in this house!

Cam had his first wagon ride on Saturday the 14th. He surprised me by knowing how to hang on and stay seated. He loved every moment of it. We've gone on a few rides since and I think we'll be making this a daily adventure. Anything to play outside is fine by me! He's now warmed up to playing in the grass.

He's even more on the move these days. Busy exploring. One room to the next, one toy after another. He definitely keeps me busy!

First Easter!

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam started off his Easter morning by going through his Easter basket. He had lots of fun exploring what was in the Elmo basket. No treats this year, he did get some puffs though! And some new books! As I suspected the basket and eggs were the big winner here!

Then we we were off to Monroe. We had a very nice Easter with Chris' family. Cam very much enjoyed playing with his cousin Brayden and his toys! One day these two will be lots of trouble together! Cam received even more Easter goodies--such a spoiled little boy.

1st Eye Exam

Hello Friends & Family--

Well traditionally a child will not see an eye doctor until they are getting ready to attend school. However, my eye doctor mentioned a program called InfantSee that offers free eye screenings to infants 6-12 months. This program enables doctors to discover things such as infant glaucoma, eye tumors and lazy eyes, in hopes of proactively treating them. I definitely too advantage of this! I encourage any new parents to look up eye clinics in your area to see if they offer this program too! (No I am not getting paid to write this, haha).

What are they doing back there?

So Cam went to the clinic on April 5th for his first eye exam! Cam was a trooper and sat in my lap while she ran a series (pretty extensive for an infant) of tests. She used lots of little figurines (He loved Elmo) to help with the tests. She said he was the easiest baby she's worked with, mainly because he loved looking at the light where most babies tend to look away. She had no trouble adding the drops to his eyes either! Ha, what can I say he's a strange one :)

Mom , don't interrupt me with pictures!

I obviously couldn't take any pictures during the exam, so these are from the waiting room. He was sitting in a cute little chair watching the ladies at the front desk--hence the looks.

49 Weeks

Hello Friends & Family--

On April 6th, also Good Friday, Cameron turned 49 weeks!

He's very busy these days, checking out every nook and cranny in the house! Right now pulling everything out of the pantry is a high priority. I love to watch him discover each new item as he throws it behind him, yet I hate reorganizing and putting everything pack in it's place :)

He discovered that he loves to swing and play outdoors. For awhile there we had a hatred for grass, but thankfully that aversion has passed. I can't wait for the weather to be a bit warmers so we can enjoy it on a daily basis. We try to go for a walk every day with the dogs if the weather permits.

Cam tried a couple new food items this week: Blueberries and organic mac & cheese. Both of which he enjoyed. He was also introduced to whole milk mixed in his nightly bottle. He didn't even know the difference, so no issues there! It's only 1-2 ounces so it doesn't make too much of a difference.

48 Weeks and 11 Months!

Hello Friends & Family--

Cam was 48 weeks on March 30th! Let the countdown begin for the first birthday party! Yikes! I'm a little frazzled at how my little guy could possibly be turning one. I'm trying to treasure these last few weeks :)

Some highlights this week, he tried cheese (string cheese) and it was a major hit. Much like chicken he can't shovel it in fast enough. Knock on wood we haven't had a choking incident yet. Phew! He's come a long way with the variety in his meals. A daily meal consists of oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, finger fruits/veggies, yogurt or cheese for lunch, and dinner some sort of protein, pasta/bread, and finger veggies/fruit. Don't let his small stature fool you, this kid can EAT! Good thing he's mastered shuffling along the furniture and is busy moving around!

Um yeah...

This week also marked his 11 month birthday! One more month and we'll end our weekly pictures. I may possibly still take a monthly photo until he's two though. We'll be setting up an appointment for his 12 month pictures and sending out invitations soon! I'm running out of time!

Until next time!

47 Weeks!

Hello Friends & Family--

March 23rd was Cam's 47th week! He tried yogurt for the first time this week and loved it! We are gradually working in the dairy to his diet. By one year we'll start weaning him off breast milk (yes, I am still nursing!) and introduce whole milk.

He also had a special visitor this week, as Aunt Abby came to Wisconsin to visit and watch him while Mommy took Daddy on a limo ride for his 30th birthday (he spent his actual birthday in Colorado--suits him fine though).

Still working on sitting once we are standing and no longer wish to be. It's a bit of a challenge and causes some frustration! Won't be long and he'll be walking!

Love,

Chris, Amber & Cameron
