9 Month Check-up

Hello Friends & Family--

On January 30th Cameron had his 9 month check-up. He did great (there were no shots at this visit, so he was pretty happy about that).

Here are his stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 10 oz    (9 %)

Height: 2' 3"  (12%)

Head Circumference: 45.5 cm  (57%)

Buddies.

Bo always has my back :)

Wiggle Worm.

I'll help you pack Daddy!

Are you sure I can't go?

Again we have a lil guy on our hands! There's no doubt he's taking after me...short and lots of brains! Haha! Dr. E had no concerns with Cameron's overall check-up. I loved hearing that of course. Our next appointment will be the big 1 year appointment. Can't believe that time is creeping up on us!

41 Weeks!

Hello Friends & Family--

On February 10th Cameron turned 41 weeks! It's official he's been here with us longer than I carried him! It's hard to believe, but every day has been a complete blessing. We love him so much!

He's still content with rolling and army crawling everywhere. He did start scooting backwards the other day, but that only upsets him because he's backed himself into furniture and couldn't get his way out. He loves to stand! He likes it when he can stand next to his toy table or the couch. This usually equates to squeals of delight :)

Daddy was gone this weekend in Chicago, so Cam had some quality Mommy time. We didn't do much because it was soo cold, but we did get to run a few errands and LOTS of play time!

Too bad he isn't smiling--this is the best "bear" pic in a long time!

Teething

Hello Friends & Family--

Oh the joys of teething! After we cut the top tooth, we started right in on the lower right tooth. It didn't take but a couple days for the other bottom tooth to appear! We officially have 3 teeth! The other top tooth is showing but hasn't quite broken through yet. Won't be long and we'll have 4 teeth! From none to four in a a couple of weeks! Wowzers!

Overall he hasn't been too bad. He's avoided eating at certain points and is a little crabby at times. Not too bad. I've heard some horror stories about teething. He doesn't really care to chew on anything that's been in the freezer. He will still opt for his beloved tags or any other usual toy. We decided we would try a teething biscuit. My little food lover ate it right up. Chris was (and still is) very hesitant with me giving him anything other than purees. He doesn't want him to choke, bless his heart. He also wants to take infant CPR, so that's on our list!

Unfortunately it's a bit difficult for me to get a picture of these teeth at the moment. I'll keep working on it. Here's a pic just because. :)

Our happy lil' Pirate! Drool and all.

Sledding

Hello Friends & Family--

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Madison finally had a major snowfall (again no complaints). Chris' Aunt & Uncle loaned us a baby sled to use with Cam and we've been waiting to test it out with the dogs. I let go of my fear that Cam was going to go flying off the sled or worse the dogs were going to run off with him...and we gave it a test run.

Needless to say he loved it! His poor little head was bopping all over the place, but he was giggling and smiling the entire time. We only had him hooked up to Hurley (the red one) as Cooper is a little reckless when it comes to pulling. Hurley is definitely our reliable one when it comes to being lead (same with roller blading and biking too). Plus the two of them can pull pretty fast and I don't think that's a good idea right now :)

We've gone sledding in the front yard sans the dogs a couple of times too. I'm that crazy lady pulling my kid in the exact same circle around the tree in our front yard. Anything for a laugh from my sweet boy! Too bad with the all the warm weather we've experienced it's almost all gone :)

Here a little video clip, it's from my phone and I apologize for the poor angles. It's hard holding a baby's head and trying to take a video.

39 Weeks & 9 Months!

Hello Friends & Family--

Where or where has the time gone? My little baby is now 9 months!? He was 39 weeks on January 27th and 9 months officially on the 29th. We are coming up on the day when he's been with us longer than I carried him--tear.

Cam during one of our rest breaks on our trip to IA.

He's turned into quite the little entertainer. He likes to "talk" or what we call a nice high pitched screech. Wouldn't you know that this blabbering turned into his first word on Saturday the 29th. Lots of firsts going on with this little man lately. So, what is it that he said first you ask? Not Mama, not baba...yes my little love bug said DADA first. Urgh. I know they say it's easier to say, but still makes me a little sad. I know he doesn't comprehend the meaning yet (everything from his toys to his food is "dada"). Mama will come one of these days.

Big yawn!

We also spent the weekend in Iowa while Chris had a meeting in Ames. Cam was able to meet his cousins Connor and Carter for the first time! My cousin Mandy and her hubby came down for the day and we had a fun day filled with lots of playing :) I wish we lived closer so we could do that more often!

Cam & Carter: Cousins playing :)

Carter sleeping...so precious!

38 Weeks

Hello Friends & Family--

January 20th marked 38 weeks! Someone was a slobbering crabby mess, and guess what that means? We have a TOOTH! Cam took after Mommy on this one and cut his top tooth first. Apparently we like to go against the grain :) After two days of on-and-off crabbiness and not sleeping well he was back to his usual inquisitive self.

This week also marked the first time he really started showing a desire to stand while holding himself up on furniture. He still needs assistance, but he's getting closer to being able to do it on his own! I'm in trouble!

He still is doing a 'dead-arm' army crawl and rolling around. I don't think he'll ever really get the concept of crawling and will just skip straight ahead to walking. I've probably just jinxed myself and he'll prove me wrong tomorrow.

37 Weeks

Hello Friends & Family--

On 'lucky' Friday the 13th Cam was 37 weeks old! We witnessed our first big snow of the season. What crazy weather we've had! Dad took advantage and went skiing with a friend while Mom and Cam hung out in the warmth of the indoors.

We had our first solo (Cam & Mommy) babysitting adventure with our buddy Lachlan this week, as well. Cam loves other babies so he was thrilled to have a pal for a little while that day! No pictures, we were busy playing :)

Avocado

Hello Friends & Family--

Yes, again I'm behind. I see a trend here, I go about a month in-between new posts. Sorry! Time to play catch up!

We've been on a roll with trying new foods! He's had lots of yummy fruits and veggies (still avoiding a lot of the berries though). I still make all of his veggies and a few of the fruits. Out of the newest tastes I'd say he like bananas and broccoli a lot. We've only had one hiccup and that was with avocados. He didn't hate them, but it was the first reaction we've had other than gobbling them down.

We've started adding in finger foods, like breads and teething biscuits. So far he loves them. Don't try to eat a piece of bread in front of him or you'll likely have to share :) Next on the agenda are proteins. I'm still unsure how I want to approach this, but I'd like to make most of them myself. Wish me luck!

So, I've avoided posting videos because I'm a little over the top, but I have a few I want to share and the avocado experience is one of them. Just ignore my voice and excessive talking.

Enjoy!
